Clifton Park
With parks, gardens, sport, rides and games, Clifton Park has everything you need for the perfect day out.
Clifton Park was originally laid out as the private grounds of Clifton House in 1783, and opened as a public park in 1891. It has beautifully landscaped gardens with specimen trees, leafy avenues and a Georgian Grade II listed house providing sweeping views.
The park is one of South Yorkshire’s top attractions, with many families travelling across the region to enjoy its delightful heritage landscape and the popular Clifton Park Museum which takes you through Rotherham's rich history.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy the open spaces, beautiful gardens, tree-lined avenues, water splash, amusement park, adventure golf and even a land train to take visitors to the museum and back.
Clifton Park has been awarded the nation’s People’s Choice for the last four consecutive years, so it can justifiably claim to be the country’s best loved park.
Clifton Park has the biggest free play park in Yorkshire with sand pit and climbing frames, slides and more - and it's never, ever closed!
Clifton Park’s Fun Park is suitable for little ones with a mini roller coaster, water ride, bumper cars and arcade games.
The water splash play area is an acre of fountains, features and fun or put your putting skills to the test on the mini-golf course.

Food and drink is available in the park and Museum. You can also enjoy your own picnic in the park.
