Riverside Walk

Creating a safer, greener Rotherham Town Centre that is connected to the river is a key aspect of the Riverside Walk development. Currently, the river is cut off from the town centre with only pathways running along the canal path towards Sheffield and Parkgate. The Riverside Walk will allow residents and visitors to access the river, enjoy the scenery, co-exist with wildlife.

The Riverside Walk will be accessible from Forge Island through a new pedestrian bridge, as well as providing a pedestrianised walkthrough from the town centre, Riverside Gardens and the Rotherham Interchange.

Artwork will also be displayed along the walk, showcasing local and national talent.

Riverside Walk will give residents the opportunity to rediscover the waterscapes that was once the life-blood of its industrial heritage.
