Rotherham goes Red & White for Promotion Send-off

Over 1,000 people packed All Saints Square in Rotherham to give a massive send off to the Millers, Rotherham United FC, ahead of Sundays Wembley play off that could see the side promoted to League One.

All Saints Square, renamed Millers Square for the day, was a sea of red and white to welcome the team, their manager Ronnie Moore, chairman Tony Stewart, Mayor Rose McNeely, and Borough Council leader Cllr Roger Stone. He wished the team good luck on behalf of the people of the borough, and Tony Stewart thanked everyone for their support.

Adding to the colour, artist volunteers through Rotherham Open Arts Renaissance, created a massive chalked Millers badge on the square.

And taking Rotherhams name national and even international were media including broadcasters Sky Sport, BBC Look North, BBC Radio Sheffield, Rother FM, Hallam FM and Real Radio, and newspapers the Yorkshire Post and Rotherham Advertiser.

Teams from the councils Environment and Development Services helped decorate the square in red and white. The Visitor Centre helped raise funds for the club by selling official merchandise, including flags, scarves and T shirts signed by the players.
