Deli Good News, Rotherham Markets thriving

The continuing popularity of Rotherham Indoor Markets is encouraging one stallholders wife to open her own outlet.

Following the success of Mark Browns Butchers stall, his wife Sarah Brown will shortly be joining him at the Markets selling popular delicacies at the new Sarahs Deli.

There has been no shortage recently of interest shown in Rotherham Markets as a place to do business, and it is not surprising when stallholders such as Mark are doing so well that after operating for only just over a year, his wife joins him at a second stall, said Markets Manager Robin Lambert.

Born in Rawmarsh, Mark Brown has spent 21 years in the trade and is confident his wifes delicatessen will take off in the Indoor Markets: Markets are renowned for offering something different in their food offer as well as quality customer service, something we are keen to achieve with this second unit. I have experienced a roaring success with the butchers stall and find I have a loyal customer base that I am sure will tell their friends about the new offer coming shortly through Sarahs Deli.

The new stall will open in time for Christmas, selling buffet favourites such as cooked meats, Italian hams and award-winning local Wentworth pies.

Sarah is keen to offer something different for food shoppers but continue selling products at good value by promoting a different special offer each week.

Sarahs Deli kicks off a run of good news, with more outlets opening, including a pet shop, a picture framing stall and a nail salon all new for Rotherham Markets in 2010.

The councils Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Planning and Transportation, Cllr Gerald Smith, said: It is fantastic seeing the Markets grow from strength to strength. We know from our shoppers that it is one of the town centres biggest attractions. With this entrepreneurial spirit being reflected in people taking up the units in Imperial Buildings, we are confident that 2010 will see an improved shopping offer in Rotherham town centre.
