Countdown to Festival of Food & Drink begins...
With Rotherham Markets' first festival of food just round the corner, local food producers and restaurants are gearing up to tantalise the taste buds of visitors to Rotherham Town Centre.
The much anticipated, mouth watering three day festival opens on Thursday 1st October by special guest star Sean Wilson, formerly Martin Platt from Coronation Street and founder of the Saddleworth Cheese Company. Come along to see him demonstrate his culinary skills with recipes using his award winning cheeses.
There really is something for everyone at this taste explosion of food and drink, no matter what age. Children will not want to miss out on Saturday's cake decorating or pancake demonstrations from The Ministry of Food. Adults will be able to learn new skills from RCAT cookery students showing off their talents and demonstrating what is available from the Wharncliffe Restaurant.
Every day will be packed full of food sampling, recipe ideas and demonstrations to inspire food lovers. There will an authentic Italian Market including food from Italian delicacies, artisan breads, preserves, homemade cakes, infused oils, speciality cheeses, olives, patisserie, wine and finest quality range of meats and gourmet sausages.
Town centre Events and Promotions Officer, Dawn Campbell said "There is an air of real excitement surrounding the festival. It really highlights the diverse range of delicious food which quality restaurants and producers in Rotherham provide. Everyone is looking forward for a chance to enjoy the tastings and demonstrations."

The festival runs from Thursday 1st- Saturday 3rd October inclusive. Each day opens at 9.30am - 4.30pm.
