What To See

Rotherham's historic town centre with pocket gardens and public squares provides the perfect setting for a few hours retail therapy, with a selection of cafes, restaurants and bars to relax in whilst you shop.

There are also many interesting places to visit in and around the town centre whilst you are in Rotherham. These include;

Rotherham Minster
Was built during the fifteenth century on the site of an earlier Saxon Church and described by Pevsner as "one of the largest and stateliest of parish churches in Yorkshire". The 180ft. spire, topped with its 7ft. gilded weathervane, has risen above the town for over 500 years.

Clifton Park is one of Rotherham's greatest treasures and situated in the very heart of the borough. Just a 2 minute walk from the town centre, it offers a great FREE family day out. The park has recently undergone a complete transformation, updating the facilities whilst still retaining its original charm. The restorations include a multimillion pound water park, rock garden and play area, giving children somewhere safe, inspiring and exciting to explore.

Redesigned with the help of a £3 million grant, Clifton Park Museum highlights the history of the borough in a way that appeals to all ages. It helps to bring both our lives, and those of our ancestors, into sharp focus with the latest in high tech displays and interactive exhibits.

Rotherham Civic Theatre
Plays host to many companies throughout the year, with a programme which appeals to everyone. A wide range of professional and amateur dance, drama, musicals, children's theatre, comedy, music, pantomime and variety is presented from September until July every year.

Rotherham Leisure Complex
This state of the art leisure facility is on the edge of the town centre. Facilities include a 6-lane main pool with a teaching pool, flumes and leisure water, plus an indoor climbing tower, sports hall, squash courts and fitness suite.

Just outside the town centre is the Magna Science and Adventure Centre. Dramatically set within a vast former steelworks, Magna is a hands-on visitor attraction that explores the powerful themes of earth, air, fire and water.
